Lin-Manuel Miranda Performs at the White House Poetry Jam: (8 of 8)
The Obama White House
Lin-Manuel Miranda performs an early version of the Hamilton idea, then called "The Hamilton Mixtape", at the White House poetry and spoken word evening in May 2009. He is accompanied by Alex Lacamoire and the audience laughs along at the premise of a hip-hop song about Alexander Hamilton.
HN commenters cite it as the origin point of Hamilton, the clip that first showed the idea and drew a big audience reaction.
